Luther Williams Field
Luther Williams Field was built in 1929 and has been the premiere venue for baseball in the Central Georgia area. While several teams have called Luther Williams home, a wide variety of major league players had their careers start in Macon, such as Pete Rose, Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones and Rafael Furcal, before making it big. Luther Williams Field still sees baseball played in it every year, and this year marks the start of an annual music celebration to take place in this landmark historic ball field.
Music + BBQ
It doesn't get any better than BBQ, blues and football! Migrate to the heart of Georgia for the Fly South Festival, Macon's first BBQ competition with winners qualifying for Memphis in May. Music plus BBQ will fill the air. The "Jamboaree" will host family-friendly festival activities throughout the day. For the football fans, large screen TV's will broadcast the SEC Championship game.
Once the sun goes down, the Derek Trucks Band and other regional music acts will take the center stage in historic Luther Williams Field for an unforgettable concert.

(Macon, GA) Proceeds from the Fly South Fest will be donated to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the state music museum located in downtown Macon. The Fly South Fest is the offspring of Bragg Jam Inc, the non-profit festival board who brings Macon the Bragg Jam Festival every summer to support local organizations. The board recently voted to make the Georgia Music Hall of Fame the recipient of the Fly South Fest's proceeds in hopes of keeping music museum in Macon.
